Pretty In Pink 30th Anniversary Post

Scrolling through Facebook today, I noticed that Pretty In Pink was "trending."  Hoping that there was no tragic news of Long Duck Dong passing away (wait, that was 16 Candles) I clicked the link, only to find that today, February 28th, 2016 is the 30th anniversary of the release of Pretty In Pink.  I have never seen Pretty In Pink, but felt I could add value to the trending topic by giving you a list of "other stuff" that is also 30 years old.

1.  DNA

OK.  You caught me.  DNA is not 30 years old.  BUT, DNA was discovered on February 28th.  Please take a minute to wish your DNA a "Happy Birthday" but in doing so, try  not to get it on anyone or on anything.

2.  The Olsen Twins

Speaking of DNA, the Olsen Twins will be turning 30 this year.  With the release of "Fuller House," I can only hope that the Tanners will be reuniting to celebrate on screen.

3  Chernobyl Disaster

Speaking of the Olsens, the Chernobyl Disaster happened 30 years ago.  No idea how those things are related, but hey, it's my blog and we will go with it.

4.  Denver International Airport

Speaking of Chernobyl, lets hit on conspiracy theories.  The Denver International Airport opened its doors on February 28, 1995.  Though, it should be noted that on February 28, 1861 the US Territory of Coloroda was established, a mere 134 years before the airport opened.  Happy Birthday Colorado and creepy airport.

5.  The Oprah Winfrey Show

Speaking of creepy airports, Oprah is 30.  Actually, Oprah is 62, which means she first aired the show when she was 32. You can see her original audition tape here.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62RHmcLDn0s

There you have it folks.  5 other things that are turning 30 this year.   Comment below with any other 2016 birthdays that you want mentioned, and be sure to share this with a friend who is looking for something to celebrate.  I'm off to go watch Jonathan Switcher cheat on the mannequin with the red head from Breakfast Club and her chiropractor.
